how to have the best summer picnic

Memorial Day weekend is the best start to picnic season! Get out your picnic baskets and get ready to hit the park.

Have a quick stop to a market, or our fave philly pick, Dibruno Brothers. We picked up olives, prosciutto, rosemary gouda, mozzarella prosciutto, baguette, olive bread and a spicy pasta salad…and my favorite summer time drink San Pellegrino (in blood orange and clementine).

Don’t have a large picnic blanket? Use a fabric tablecloth! We also used lilly for target napkins.

philadelphia brunch – cafe la maude

I am behind in my posting! What better way to give you some early morning drool worthy brunch pictures? I went to brunch with my friend Kendra and I’m so lucky that she hired me for my first job out of college and even luckier to call her a friend, not just a former boss! She lovely in every way and always knows everything there is to know about whats going on and what’s good in Philadelphia.

We went to Cafe La Maude, a parisian-lebanese bistro in the norther liberties section of philly. It did not disappoint! The owner and his wife were right at the door greeting customers as they came in.

Our brunch was amazing…are you drooling yet?caprese benedictAbove is the caprese benedict! It was just as amazing at it looks.

It’s the feel of Paris and the taste of Beirut all hidden in Philadelphia! You won’t find it by strolling the city so make a point to take a quick trip up to northern liberties!

[ALMOST] Spring in Philly

Spring has not quite hit here, but I’m excited to say, spring should be here! Perhaps spring just forgot we were waiting for her? I’m going to ignore the weather reports of snow tonight and tomorrow, and I’m going to start dressing for spring in anticipation of the warmth. I’m sure the hundreds standing out in the frigid cold for free Rita’s today will be praying for her to come quick.
