battling dry winter skin

I have to admit I’ve already ventured out bare-legged once this year, it was so warm in Princeton last week but now back to the chill. This year I’ve had the worst flaky dry skin. I never have to use lotion on my face but this year has been different, tons of flaky dry skin and chapped lips.

I’ve been pretty diligent in trying to get my skin back to its regular luminosity and I think I cracked the code…or my code at least. For reference my skin is pretty even. I have roscea and seborrhea, an oily nose but otherwise pretty normal skin.

Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash: This I steal from my mom because its so amazing! It’s gentle enough to use every day or just if you need a good scrub to get the dead skin cells off!
Olay ProX Advanced Facial Cleanser and Mario Enzyme Cleanser: These have totally cleared up my skin. I barely ever break out since using this combination.
Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar (mini jar only costs $16!): So I bought a small jar when I was absolutely desperate. But it smells glorious. So light, clean and floral.
Radha Rosehip Oil: My best friend from high school, Alison, just recommended this to me after she purchased it. Rosehip is used for anti-aging, reducing redness and reducing signs of acne. It has definitely helped with my roscea. I apply before bed but I hate the smell. It smells like a poppyseed balsamic dressing, blah.
Tony Moly avocado face mask: Alison and I tried these on a whim…omg so amazing. It has a light smell, not really avocado-y but nice. Our face felt so nice when we took the mask off, I basically felt like my face had been injected with something to slightly plump it up and give it intense mositure. Its a sheet mask so you basically just lay with it on and take if off and pat off the excess.
Bag Balm: So this is really for animals, specifically cows that get chapped but it works wonders on your lips and this jar lasts forever. I’ve had mine for two years and you can’t hardly tell I used any. It has a slightly medicinal smell but its completely reasonable.

What I love about all of these products is you see instant results! No need to be scaly and dry going into spring, your skin will look fresh as can be!
