Throwing themed parties is one of my favorite things to do. We had decided at brunch a few weeks ago to throw a chambray and champagne party…and then Susan got engaged so it obviously became her engagement celebration…but we all still showed up in chambray!
The engaged beauty herself, Susan!Throwing a themed engagement party for Susan was so fun because she’s such a glam girl and literally loves everything feminine…like me, duh. Andrea, my co-host, and I knew we wanted it to be ultra-feminine, bubbly with blush and gold.
Prepping the menu:
Chocolate cupcakes with buttercream pipped roses
Champagne to go with our theme, of course. Aren’t these napkins just adorable? Shop them at Betsy White Stationary.
A whole spread of champagne flutes and wedding cakes
Details, details, details! Even if you are the most creative person (you don’t have to be the Director of Marketing like I am to create details that will really stand out!). I love searching for ideas or free illustrations to use on signage (remember these?). Design something on your computer and have them printed on 60lb matte paper at Staples. It’s super inexpensive but the paper can be folded for an escort card or used as a sign.
I made favors of champagne flutes with a little sip sip hooray tag on the back. Throw a little krinkle paper like this kind in the bag…but be so careful because they can easily break in the bags.
Donuts with bling from Seventh and J on etsy.
We picked up straws on Etsy from PartyPaperStraws that were pre-sorted in the colors we wanted and I have to say these didn’t get wilty like some paper straws, definitely worth the few extra dollars!
Throwing a chic party doesn’t have to break the bank and just takes a little creativity! If you are anything like us brunch turned into 6 hours of catching up and lots of laughs.
